Back from the war zone of NY Fashion Week

I just returned this past weekend from New York covering Fashion Week for ten days. I look forward to it each year, allowing me to get out of D.C. from the day to day hustle of covering celebrities and politicians inside the hallways of Capitol Hill. I have finally got around and selected a few of my favorite images. 

Adaptive rowing story

This past weekend, I relaunched a story I have been working off and on for the last year on adaptive rowing in the Washington DC area. How it allows people with disabilities to participate in a competitive sport and get out on the water.

As photojournalists...we are never given any control of the situation that is placed in front of us. As a fashion photographer you are given a lot of control and to have this control was amazing. But one thing that you never have control of is the weather.

As many people focus only on the political side of DC, I find myself wanting to document the other parts of this city that few know about. The music, the fashion, and the culture. So this year I decided to do a personal project on DC fashion week and this is what I came up with.

When I told a couple of my friends that I am working on a project showing the contrast between politics and fashion in DC. One of the things I would be covering as part of my story, is DC Fashion week...everyone of them was surprise that DC has a fashion week.
