Lobbyist Mario Castillo for San Angelo Standard-Times

On an early friday morning in mid January, I had the opportunity to photograph Mario Castillo in his Washington DC home and at the Lincoln Memorial for an article for San Angelo Standard-Times newspaper.  They were doing an article about his work as a lobbyist for non-profits. He was very photogenic and we bonded quickly over our love of art.

Inauguration in a different light

Some of us are old enough to remember our parents snapping family photos with the old style Polaroid cameras. The ones that you had to pull the emulsion away from the photo to see what you got.

I decided this inauguration, I wanted to get something different..something that  couldn't and shouldn't be created with Instagram. I borrowed an old Polaroid land camera from a friend, spent 60 bucks on film and went to town. Below are four images from yesterday's inauguration on the mall.

Look back at 2012: Dawson Rough

This past year I had the opportunity to meet and photograph Dawson Rough, an energetic boy from South West Pennsylvania. Like any young boy Dawson was outgoing, a huge sports fanatic and loves spending time wrestling his father. He was born with achondroplasia, the most common type of dwarfism. The same type of dwarfism that I have. Like me, he decided with is family to have limb lengthening done to his legs. This time around he was able to get around 4 inches in just over two months. If he decides to, he will have two to three limb lengthening operations done over the coming years.
